September 28: Hilary Duff is 24-years-old today.




After working in local theater plays and television commercials in her childhood, Hilary Erhard Duff, who was born in Houston, played the title role in the television series Lizzie McGuire.

Duff also stared in films including Cheaper by the Dozen, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, A Cinderella Story and Cheaper by the Dozen 2. She has most recently appeared in According to Greta and Stay Cool.

Duff ventured into pop music with the release of three RIAA-certified platinum albums and over thirteen million records sold worldwide. Her first studio album, Metamorphosis, was certified triple platinum and she followed it up with two more platinum albums, Hilary Duff and Most Wanted.

Duff released her third studio album, Dignity, which was certified gold in August 2007and released two singles, "With Love," her highest charting US single to date and "Stranger."

In November 2008, Hilary released a compilation of her greatest hits, Best of Hilary Duff, whose single "Reach Out" became her third #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play.


In May 2011, Duff starred in Bloodworth, an adaptation of the novel Provinces of Night by William Gay. Duff plays Raven Halfacre, a teenage daughter of a promiscuous, alcoholic mother.

In August 2011, Duff announced that she and her husband are expecting their first child.
